The Alicante Nativity Scene Museum reopens on November 22
If you visit Alicante this November, you have an important appointment at the Nativity Scene Museum, one of the stops on the route of the historic town.
The Museum reopens its doors on 22 November and is preparing for a large iflux of visitors before Christmas. With a long tradition of Nativity Scene Movement, Alicante brings together some of the most important artists working in traditional ways. The Nativity Scene Museum offers visitors a representation of the Alicante style and also artists from the rest of Spain as important as Mayo Lebrija or Castells Marti.
The exhibition also collects pieces of Lladró, Craft Orejudo and Ramirez Pazos. They are also Christmas scenes from countries like China, Japan, Israel, Canada, Mexico, Poland, Peru, France, Italy or Germany. The details in the figures, the period costumes and realistic recreations of the landscape of history mesmerize thousands of people who visit every year.
The museum is located on Calle San Agustin No. 3, in one of the traditional houses so characteristic of the historic city center, near the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and at the foot of Santa Barbara Castle. And just a few steps from Bed and Breakfast ‘La Milagrosa’ Be Alicante headquarters.
Alicante is considered one of the birthplaces of Nativity Scene Movement in Spain. It hosted the first community of artists nativity scenes set up in the country, the Asociación de Belenistas de Alicante, founded in 1959 and declared Entity of Public Interest in 1997.

Mondays: afternoons, from 17:00 to 20:00 hours.
Tuesday to Friday: from 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00 hours.
Saturdays: from 10:00 to 14:00 hours.
Closed Sundays and holidays.
