Muchavista-El Campello Beach

A few kilometers from the capital is the first stop of our trip along the coast in Tram: El Campello beach. The tram leaves you right at the foot of it, where you can enjoy one of the favorite places for the people from Alicante and tourists. It is a beach full of life, more than 23 kilometers of crystal clear waters, with Blue Flag and all the services you need: sea rescue, first aid, children’s play area and a sports area and sunbeds and umbrellas.

Cala Piteres

If you continue the route, north of Coveta Fumá you will find one of those magical places that make the Costa Blanca so special: Cala Piteres. It is a small corner of sand and rocks that you will like, especially if you are a water sports lover. It is an ideal place for diving.

Villajoyosa

Theis town is a place that you can not miss. Its typical Mediterranean streets will transport you to another time, and its coastline is one of the most beautiful you can contemplate. In its historical center you can visit its Renaissance walls, its gothic church and the different medieval towers that cross the city. And of course, you can also enjoy its impressive beaches, among which is Platja del Paraíso, one of the best known in the province.

Finestrat

The Tram will leave you at La Marina shopping center, and from there you can go for a stroll in this beautiful town of little more than 6,000 inhabitants. It is only 8 minutes from Benidorm and you can not miss the Cala de Finestrat. Its old quarter will make you fall in love, and we also recommend you to visit ‘El Castell’, the castle of the Almohad period of the 13th century. From its viewpoint you can contemplate the whole line of the Alicante coast, from here to the capital. Spectacular!

Benidorm

Go through its streets, enter its markets, its bars of a thousand nationalities and, of course, bathe in its wonderfull beaches.

The Levante and the West are the best known, busy beaches, with a multicultural environment and a promenade where you will never want to leave.

Alfas del Pi

In Benidorm you can take Line 9 of the Tram, the ‘Coast Train’ and continue your journey to the northern limit. The first stop is L’Alfàs del Pi, which houses one of the most important foreign populations in the area. People from all over the world have chosen this idyllic place to live. There must be a reason!

It has 4 kilometers of coast and its best known beach is El Albir. But besides the sea, here is the Natural Park of Serra Gelada (Sierra Helada), with cliffs of more than 300 meters and a wealth of flora and fauna. Do not miss either its Roman villa and the lighthouse.

Altea

The historical center of Altea is a postcard in itself. Its streets, typical of Mediterranean villas, retain the spirit of fishing villages and squirm between magical corners until reaching the sea. Its 6 kilometers of coast are home to six stunning beaches, among which are L’Espigò, La Olla and Mascarat.

We recommend a walk through the Old Town, known as ‘El Fornet’, along the seafront and the Galera Tower.

Calpe

Calpe is well recognized for its Rock of Ifach, one of the symbols of the Costa Blanca and one of the most important natural parks of the Valencian Community. Its promenade is really beautiful, and the port is one of the must-sees in this town. Here, as on the whole coast, you can enjoy a unique seafood gastronomy in any of the restaurants in the port area, and bathe in its fantastic beaches at the foot of the ‘Peñón’. Lie in the sand and look up … It will take your breath away!

Benissa

More than 4 kilometers of coastline cross the coast of Benissa, an area that stands out for its great gastronomic wealth. Its octopus stew is a delight, and we suggest you to get some sausages,a typical dish of the area and with a very special flavor. After lunch you can stroll through the Lonja, a 16th century monument with medieval architecture that currently houses artistic and cultural exhibitions.

Teulada

In this municipality of the interior you can contemplate a set of medieval monuments of great historical and cultural value, such as the Castle of the s. XVI, the Church of Santa Caterina and the Tower of Capd’Or, dating from 1.563. Teulada is a Mediterranean village that preservers a very marked medieval character.

Gata de Gorgos

Continuing through the interior, the Train stops in Gata, where we recommend you to visit the Church of San Miguel Arcángel, a historic monument that the Arabs settled in the area began to build in the tenth and eleventh centuries.

Denia

The final journey on Tram along the coast of Alicante is Denia, one of the most important towns in the province and capital of the Marina Alta region. It has a population of 44,000 inhabitants, but in summer they multiply until reaching 200,000. It has an impressive historical and artistic heritage.

On your list of obligatory visits within Denia, you can not miss the old Shipyards of the sixteenth century and the Fortified House of Benitzania. In addition, this city hosts one of the most important Roman and Iberian archeological sites in the area. The site of the Almadraba dates from the Roman period of the centuries I to IV a.D, and the one of Alto de Benimaquia is even older, from the Iberian time between the centuries VI to III BC. You can also visit El Pico del Águila, an Iberian settlement from the 4th century BC. Denia also has a medieval castle that houses an important Archaeological Museum.

And of course, after the cultural visit it is time to enjoy its 20 kilometers of beach, sand to the north (Las Marinas area) and rocky coves to the south (Les Rotes area). Which one do you prefer? Choose your favourites stops and plan your trip to the sealine from your rooms in BeAlicante.
