Be Alicante will host two teams of the Volvo Ocean Race

The time has come! The Volvo Ocean Race is about to anchor in the Port of Alicante. On October 22, the capital of the Costa Blanca will be the Start Port of the largest sailing competition in the world. And Be Alicante will be the official host of two of the eight teams participating in the race. We are very excited and looking forward to it!

The facilities and different accommodations of Be Alicante are very close to the port area and the Race Village, just a few minutes walk. This privileged location is perfect for the teams to move to their headquarters without needing to use private transport. We remind you that, although the race will start on the 22nd, from Wednesday 11 October you can visit the Race Village and know firsthand the history of this legendary competition. In addition, this year the teams have prepared something very special for the fans: their mobile headquarters will remain open so anyone can visit them and see in person how the sailors prepare for the toughest sailing competition in the world.

In the Village, which is located in the port, you will also have the opportunity to see the emblematic Volvo Ocean 65, the boats that have crowned the best teams in history. Another must see is the Volvo Ocean Race Museum, do not miss it when you come to the city! It is a modern an interactive museum, in which you can experience the regatta from a different and special perspective.

It is the fourth consecutive time that Alicante hosts the start of this competition, which is held every two years. This edition will be the last biennial, since since 2019 the regatta will be held every three years.
