This February brings us two of the most outstanding festivities of the year that you will fully enjoy: Valentine’s Day and Carnival 2018 in Alicante. If you are in the city these days, get ready for all the events that are scheduled. And if you are thinking about making a trip and have not yet decided your destination, the capital of the Costa Blanca awaits you with open arms.

For the celebration of Carnival 2018, the City Council of Alicante has organized an extensive cultural and festive program that you will find very amusing. The celebrations begin on February 8, with the traditional “Dijous de Gras” (Thursday of Gras). At 9.30pm you can see the’ correfoc’ (a spectacle of fireworks) that begins at Plaza del Ayuntamiento and goes through the streets of the city center. Then, at Plaza del Carmen, very close to your accommodation in BeAlicante, there will be a gastronomic party with sausages and live music.

On Friday 9, Plaza del Carmen will also be the scene of the ‘Pregón’, at 10:30 p.m. And on the 10th get ready for the great day of Carnival 2018 in Alicante: the “Saturday Ramblero”. In the famous Rambla de Méndez Núñez there will be a fantastic musical show with two stages on each side of the avenue, with DJs and live concerts. Take out your costume and have fun along with all the citizens and tourists who visit us at this time of the year. And if you travel with children, in the afternoon there are a lot of activities for them, also on the Rambla.

The celebration of Carnival 2018 in Alicante continues on Tuesday, February 13, with the Procession of the Pelele (from 9:00 pm in the Plaza de San Cristóbal) and on Wednesday the 14th with the famous “Entierro de la Sardina”, which puts end to Carnival 2018.

Valentine’s Day in Alicante

And on February 14, we will live another special day in the city. It’s Valentine’s Day! Although this year the festivite is on Wednesday, you can celebrate it with your partner spending a romantic weekend in the capital of the Costa Blanca. A walk through the Port, a romantic dinner in one of the downtown restaurants, a cultural evening at the theater … There are many plans that you can enjoy on Valentine’s Day in Alicante.
