The Procession of the Magi of Alcoy celebrates its 131 anniversary

The night of January 5 is one of the most special Christmas dates in Spain. Tradition tells us that on the eve of Three Kings Day, the three wizards of the East visit the children to give them gifts, and that same afternoon, most of Spain’s cities celebrate their Procession, a parade in which their majesties are the real protagonists, with their impressive floats and their royal pages and shepherds. The tradition of the ‘Cabalgata de Reyes’ is very old, but there is a village where this celebration is especially important: Alcoy. In the locality of the interior of Alicante, the arrival of its majesties of East is a special event, in which more than a thousand Alcoyans participate and each year it gathers thousands of visitors in its streets. ArtFutura, el festival internacional de la creatividad digital

El próximo 12 de diciembre Alicante se convierte en la capital de la cultura del futuro y la creatividad digital con el festival Artfutura, un evento internacional que reúne los proyectos y las ideas emergentes más innovadoras del actual escaparate del “new media”, el diseño de interacción, los videojuegos y la animación digital. El evento se celebra en un total de 23 ciudades en todo el mundo, y Alicante será su sede hasta el próximo 27 de abril de 2017. Esta edición tendrá como temática principal la realidad virtual e Internet 3D. En los distintos actos del festival podrán conocerse las principales novedades en animación 3D, así como documentales, motiongraphics, efectos especiales, virales, videoclips y muchos otros conceptos del arte más vanguardista. En su paso por Alicante, el festival tendrá como sedes oficiales el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MACA), que esta situado a sólo unos pasos del Alojamiento turístico La Milagrosa, sede de BeAlicante, y el Centro Cultural Las Cigarreras. Turandot at the Teatro Principal in Alicante

The International Opera of Moldova, the country’s most important art institution, travels to Alicante to play Turandot : opera in three acts of composer Giacomo Puccini and libretto in Italian Giuseppe Adami and Renato Simoni. The work was unfinished by the death of Puccini, but was completed by the composer and pianist Franco Alfano and released in the prestigious La Scala in Milan an April 25, 1926. Turandot, name of Persian origin which translated means “daughter of Turan” this time will be interpreted by the musical director Nicolae Dohotaru and choir director Ion Bratescu.
