Flamenco and classical music for the Day of the guitar in Alicante

The 12th of November is celebrated the Day of the guitar. On the occasion of the celebration in Alicante several events have been organized with the guitar as main protagonist.

At 20:00 hours in the Auditorium of the Provincial Council of Alicante the works to be represented in the program will be centered on the famous Spanish composer Maestro Rodrigo. His music will be performed by the Chamber Orchestra of Valencia, under the direction of Yaron Traub along with acclaimed Ángel Romero as soloist on guitar. Among other melodies you can enjoy the unforgettable “Fantasy for a gentleman” and the World Heritage songs of the “Aranjuez Concert”.

On the same day and at the same time Flamenco en tablas will be held at the Caja Mediterraneo Foundation’s Aula de Cultura in Alicante, organized by Emilio Morales, in honor of the flamenco tablao La Guitarreria and the flamenco tablao Los Lunares. The show will feature guest artist Carlos Carbonell and the bailaoras Rocío Sempere and Feta Gómez.

The classical guitar or Spanish guitar is a string musical instrument, made with almost all wood and composed of a box, a mast on which is attached the fretboard or storage room and six strings. It is the most used instrument in generes such as blues, rock and heavy metal, especially in its electric variant. In flamenco however a Spanish guitar is usually used with slight variations called flamenco guitar. Although at a glance may go unnoticed, these guitars have construction specifications and differentiated materials that give this instrument another type of sound.
