Movember: move for men’s health

The month of November is about raising awareness about men’s health. It’s the month of ‘Movember‘! Surely you already know this social movement that invites us every year to act to prevent prostate and testicle cancer, and to become aware of the mental health.

‘Movember’ is represented by the unmistakable mustache that millions of men around the world grow in the month of November to support the cause. The campaign is held in 21 countries, including Spain. The idea is not only to break taboos and talk about male health in general, but also to raise funds for research on the diseases that most affect men.


Throughout this month, there will be a multitude of events around the world, such as talks, concerts, exhibitions and advertising campaigns. If you are in Alicante on the 25th November, you can not miss the event that will take place in the town of Elda. The club Monastil Rugby Elda has organized a macro party in favor of Movember in the football stadium Pepico Amat.

If you are staying with Be Alicante, you should know that from the capital of the Costa Blanca you can reach Elda in only half an hour by car, and that there are also buses and daily trains to this beautiful town. In this macro event will participate tattoo artists and barbers, and you can enjoy live music, a dance show, a solidarity bar and even a rugby match. All proceeds will be for the benefit of Movember Foundation Spain.

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States are the other countries where the ‘Movember’ movement has been celebrated for almost two decades. The Movember Foundation was chosen in 2011 and 2012 as one of the 100 most notable NGOs by the Global Journal45. And it is that until its appearance, there had not existed any social campaign on masculine health with so much international repercussion.

Knowledge is power! Family history is one of the most powerful tools for preventing any disease and understanding your health. So you can know if you are at risk of cancer or any other disease.


  • If you notice something, do something
There is nobody who knows our body better than ourselves, so Movember does invite you to be alert to the signs and, in case you notice that something is wrong, than go to the doctor without delay. Early detection is the best weapon to fight most diseases.
